The Melt

We are concerned with processes that blur the boundaries between “nature” and “technology” while creating feedback loops between these two contested concepts. The Melt is a site-specific performative gesture in the Swiss Alps that questions solarization and the image, memory and disappearance, and the issue of climate change in the context of contemporary technicity. A cherished gift of a snowflake on photographic paper has one brief opportunity to express itself anew before being overexposed forever.
